Klaus' medical expenses

Klaus Gutbier- beloved father of 8 and devoted husband was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Grapevine, Texas on Tuesday July 7, 2015. This was a hit and run accident. He suffered breaks in the neck and spine and has limited mobility and little to no use of hands and arms at this time. He spent days in Surgical ICU at Parkland Hospital in Dallas waiting for surgery. He was moved after surgery, and several days in the ICU to the ortho unit while awaiting a bed in the neurology unit. He has a room now in Parkland Neuro but requires someone present 24/7 for safety reasons as he can’t move arms and hands. Family and friends from the surrounding community and church are helping provide overnight care. Many have asked how they can help. Klaus is 76 years-old and has medicare for insurance. The insurance will not cover the two big spinal cord injury rehabilitation centers in the area. Prayers are needed most for a rehab facility covered through insurance.
