Zahra's Recovery From Serious Head Injury
Donation protected

For those that don't know Zahra was involved in a serious car accident on the evening of Wednesday the 24th of May. Not many details are known at this time but it occured in southern Maine as Zahra was driving home from dropping her partner off at the bus station in Portsmouth, NH.
Zahra has suffered a severe head injury for which she underwent a 4 hour surgery Wednesday night in which a titanium plate was put in her skull. She is currently in the ICU while recovering from surgery and then will need extensive rehabilitation and recovery time. Currently it sounds like, at the very least, the entire summer will be spent in many stages of recovery.
Zahra had been living in Southern Maine with her partner with plans to work all summer in Ogunquit to save money for her 2023-2024 school year. She was planning to use her savings from the summer to pay her tuition fees as well as her rent and all other monthly bills so she would be able to focus more on her studies rather then working fulltime and going to school.
These plans have all changed now with the accident. Zahra will now be having to move home with her Mom and Roderick as well as her siblings. She has two younger sisters and a younger brother. Her family is planning to do everything it takes to help Zahra to a full recovery but it is going to take some financial help to do so.
On top of helping cover Zahra the lost wages for her next school year and the inevitable medical bills, it would be beneficial to help now as well. Her family has already been struggling some financially due to Roderick, who is the sole income in the house, being out of work for some time now due to some health issues of his own and now to help support Zahra.
Immediate needs for funds will be for hotels, gas and expenses as Rahzell and Roderick are in Portsmouth at this time. They have the youngest with them while the two older of the kiddos are at home with their Mammaw while worrying about their big sister
but still going to school and handling daily life.
I have known Rahzell and Zahra since Z was 5. I watched first hand Rahzell raise Z as a single mom but still give whenever asked to help others. She always lived by the idea that others were worse off then them. I have been privileged to see not only Zahra grow but the family grow and couldn't begin to tell you all how much love this family has within them. They continue to give of themselves whenever able with it be financially or by friendship.
Now it is our turn to hold this family close in not only our thoughts but by helping them in their time of need. Every little bit helps and adds up and if not able to donate share this far and wide.
I will update as I can with the progress Z is making as I know what a fighter she is and will shock us in her recovery I am sure!
