Zach's Road To Recovery

Zach is a happy 9 year old boy who has been through so much over the last 3 years. He suffered a serious stroke whilst on holiday which has left him with life changing brain damage. He was then diagnosed with Moyamoya disease and as he was born with hereditary spherocytosis he was 1 of only 3 people in the world to have both conditions. Zach underwent an emergency splenectomy in Septmeber 2014 in Sheffield and 2 twelve hour brain surgeries in Zurich. He has undergone intense physiotherapy and occupational therapy and he is determined to beat the odds.  Zach now spends alot of his time attending hospital appoinments and undergoing tests to monitor his condition. The splenectomy did not go according to plan and remnants were left behind so he is going to have to undergo this surgery again. Zach is very lucky to have a wonderful neurologist in Sheffield but unfortunately in the UK we do not have enough knowledge of the disease so we are again fundraising to take Zach back to Zurich after recent tests picked up complications so please help us achieve our goal.
