Three Legged Dinker

My name is Dinker and welcome to my page. Thank you in advance for your support and shares. I am a male Alaskan Klee Kai that was born different than my brother and sister. My mommy says that I was born with three prefect legs and one special stump that she named "lefty". At 8 weeks old I weighed 1lb 9oz and was far smaller than my siblings and most other Klee Kai my age, but I never let my size or stump slow me down. When I try to run, it usually ends up more like a bunny bounce and jackrabbit jump with a side of face plants. I squeak when I try to bark or howl, and I can't keep my balance much when I go number two. My favorite things are bully sticks, antlers and being carried everywhere I go. Lately, I have been seeing a lot of puppy doctors. When I first got to Michigan, I started wheezing and having trouble breathing. The doctors determined I had fluid on my lungs that could develop into pneumonia if not treated, so now I get yummy tasting medicine twice a day. Today my mom took me to a different doctor to look at my unique leg. She told me she wanted to get me a pirate peg leg so I could run as fast as the other dogs do, but the doctor said I wasn't a candidate. It seems I use my stump too much and it may be better if they took more of it away. The good news was that I wouldn't have to see any more doctors for a few months until I got double my size for safety. In the meantime, my mom has "tripod proofed" the entire house. My house has all wood floors that I can't seem to get good traction on and always seem to end up like Bambi, all criss crossed and on my face. Mommy got carpets for every room, stairs for the furniture, socks for my stump, a ferret harness because a puppy one wouldn't fit and bed rails so I don't fall off the bed at night. She is doing her best to help me feel more confident at home but would love any ideas or experiences others have had with three legged pets.
