U.S. Navy Veteran Carlos Castro Passes Away

Carlos' "Celebration of Life" was held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 in San Luis Obispo County, Morro Bay.

It is with heavy hearts that Carlos Castro's immediate family report and disclose that Carlos Castro, a 14-year U.S. Navy Veteran of the U.S.S. Denver- only 35 years old - passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 11:03 p.m.  Carlos returned from his ill state to his immediate family at a San Diego Hospital for his final goodbyes.

Within this time, we laughed with Carlos through various intervals when he was "up for laughs" and tenderly cared for him with the utmost dignity, respect and LOVE.  The important thing is, Carlos was empowered to take his last breath knowing that he was surrounded by many immediate family members and an abundance of love.  He passed with a smile on his face, holding his little sister's hand.

We remain proud of our young sailor, for he indeed put his life on the line for his country.

Carlos' Celebration of Life ceremony was beautiful, yet never easy; an opportunity to reflect upon the very full life that Carlos Castro led, as well as an opportunity to express in detail how deeply and profoundly Carlos touched and impacted our lives.
