FPC Pony Fund (Pony and Tack)
Spende geschützt
Fredericton Pony Club has a long-standing tradition in our fine city - sadly, the original club in Odell Park closed its doors in 2002 for a number of reasons (primarily financial).
In 2005, FPC was re-established by club alumni who wanted to make sure that this incredible experience was still available for children in the area. The biggest challenge we faced in starting back up is that FPC didn't have a barn to use, nor were we able to offer riding lessons.
FPC has a new home at Shadow Lane Farm - my little farm in Hanwell. I have been using my personal horse (Ryker, Beau, Mack and Maisy) to teach kids all about horses and their care - and they are also being used for riding lessons.
Our club is growing quickly. In December 2014, we had no members. In July 2015, we have 23 and I believe we will have 30 + by the end of the year - this is extremely exciting!
My personal horses can't accomodate all the kids who want to ride - and so I've been looking for a pony to help out. I found that pony - her name (for now) is Star and she's a 7 year old, 13.2hh paint pony. She is a beautiful little lady and is one of those special ponies that come along very, very rarely.
Pony Club has impacted many of our lives - it has shaped us into the people we are today. Please consider contributing to our Pony Fund - her cost is $1400 and I will likely need to spend close to $600.00 for her tack and related equipment. Our members contribute $20.00/month which will help cover her monthly expenses - but I would love for Pony Club Alumni and friends to make this 'donation' to the current Pony Clubbers as a "Pay it Forward" gesture - let's make sure Pony Club can continue for many, many more years!
If you want to see what we do, please visit our Facebook Page (Fredericton Pony Club) or stop by to meet our gang :)
THANK YOU for helping our Pony Club kids live their dream!
