Ariel’s Emergency Surgery
Donación protegida
We had a sudden unexpected long, emotional, exhausting and stressful Saturday.
My rescue pup of 8 years needed emergency surgery.
I started noticing weird signs and symptoms about 3 weeks ago, was keeping an eye on her and trying different foods and anything I could think of. Some days were better than others, so I thought things were looking up- then other symptoms kept occurring and I knew something wasn’t right and knew it was time to take her.
We ended up at the emergency hospital and they insisted on emergency surgery, or it would be fatal. She had a severe infection. Dogs white blood cells should be around 17,000 and Ariel’s we’re at 57,000 and were rising and if she didn’t get surgery, she wouldn’t have made it.
This was the most terrifying experience for me. All I wanted for her was to heal a recover.
She’s currently still in the hospital but doing well.
I do not wish this upon anyone, so with that, I would like to say that I learned something from this experience and that is for anyone that owns a female dog, please get her spayed. Ariel’s infection happened due to me not getting her spayed because of my fear that something would go wrong. If I would’ve known that this could happen from not being spayed, I would have 100% had her undergo the procedure in the first place. Please spay or neuter your babies.
