A Stroke of Determination
Donation protected
On June 6th, 2014, at the age of 19, I had a migraine induced stroke. A month after recovery from hemiplegic paralysis on the left side of my body, I climbed my first mountain. Now, a year later, I'm attempting the National Three Peaks challenge with two close friends and supporters, and attempting to climb Snowdon, in Wales, Ben Nevis in Scotland, and Scafell Pike in England, three of the highest peaks in the United Kingdom, within four days. The money raised during this challenge will be donated to the Heart and Stroke foundation which does an outstanding amount of research, prevention, and post-stroke initiatives, so hopefully more individuals have the chance to have a stroke of good luck, with our hearts in the right place, with an aim to raise $1 for every meter we climb—2926 meters—nearly 10 000 feet in total.
