Help the Hurst & McKemy family

In late January 2022, Jeremy took his mom, Andy, to the St. Jude Emergency Room after months of experiencing pain. While there, Andy was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, a recurrence of the very same cancer she had battled and won almost 10 years ago. Since the initial diagnosis this year, she has begun weekly chemotherapy treatments, lung fluid draining x 2-3 per week, physical therapy, occupational therapy, bloodwork, scans, and numerous doctor visits through St. Jude. Through this time, Jeremy and his family have stepped up and provided support by caring for her, taking her to her doctor's appointments, picking up prescriptions, etc. In addition, Megan and Johnathan graciously opened their home to her, where she's been staying since being diagnosed.

In the midst of all of this, in late March 2022, Jeremy woke up in excruciating chest pain at 3 AM and was rushed to UCI Medical Center Emergency Room, where he learned that his lung had collapsed for the second time, the first being almost 10 years ago. As Jeremy had recently begun a new job and was within his probation period, he was without medical insurance and begun to fear the high cost he was about to undertake for the medically necessary emergency stay at the hospital. Jeremy has since passed his probation period but, unfortunately, is not covered for his hospital stay and was recently hit with a huge medical bill. He now faces additional pulmonologist visits and many doctors appointments ahead of him.

With all that Jeremy and his family have going on, worrying about medical bills and going into debt should be their very least concern. Please help, if you can, to support their family during this challenging time. This will be an uphill battle, and any support is greatly appreciated and welcome during this time.
