Help My Dad Rebuild After Losing Everything

Hi, my name is Marisol and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my dad, a 68-year-old man who has spent nearly his entire life working as a truck driver. He’s one of the hardest-working people I know, someone who has always put his family first and never asked for a handout, no matter how hard things got.

About 10 years ago, just as my dad was nearing retirement, he was in a devastating truck accident that almost took his life. It not only left him with physical scars but also brought on a huge financial burden. At the time, my parents were running their own small trucking company, and the accident wiped out their main source of income.

Despite the odds, my dad made a miraculous recovery. And instead of slowing down, he went right back to work , determined to make up for the financial loss and provide for our family once again.

Unfortunately, just recently, tragedy struck again.

On the night of 4th of July, my dad was involved in another serious accident that completely totaled his truck. A drunk driver suddenly cut him off on the highway, and in a split-second decision to avoid hitting them, my dad swerved causing him to lose control and crash all to protect them, and in doing so, sacrificed everything he had worked for.

To make matters worse, my dad only had cargo insurance at the time because he simply couldn’t afford full coverage for the truck and trailer. So when the truck was totaled, there was no insurance payout to help him recover the loss. Everything is gone.

Thankfully, he survived but the damage has left him unable to continue working. And without a truck, there is no income. Now, on top of recovering once again, my dad is struggling to find work at 68 years old, and my parents are facing another devastating financial setback just as they were trying to get back on their feet.

That’s why I’m reaching out and asking for help.

My parents are not the type to ever ask for anything. But right now, they need support just to keep up with basic bills, medical expenses, and figuring out what comes next. Any amount, I mean anything, no matter how small, would truly make a difference.

If you’ve ever known someone who worked their whole life with a big heart and determination, that’s my dad. I just want to give back to my parents who has given so much of himself for others and his family and who now, more than ever, needs a community to lean on.
