Hi, my name is Carley, and I’m a business major at the University of Utah. I’m working hard toward my degree while staying active in campus life, including Greek life, and I dream of building a career that will allow me to give back to others the way so many have given to me.

After the first week of classes this semester, I received devastating news: I will not be receiving the financial help I was counting on for tuition. The total I need to cover is $19,000.

I work as a nanny as much as I can to support myself, but even with long hours, this amount is far more than I can reach on my own. My dad, who lives back home in Tennessee, would love nothing more than to help—but since 2021, after undergoing a bilateral above-knee amputation, he has been in declining health. He now relies on a fixed income, which makes it impossible for him to provide financial assistance.

Education means everything to me. With your support, I can continue my studies, pursue my degree, and one day help other students who find themselves in situations like mine.

To do my part, I’m also planning to raise money locally by holding a bake sale at the farmers market in my community. Every cookie, cupcake, and brownie sold will go toward this goal.
