My name is Juinor Ritchie. I’m a Jamaican citizen but a permanent resident living in the United States of America. I have been living in America for almost 35 years. Before moving here, I went through a hurricane in 1988, which was Hurricane Gilbert. It was a devastating sight to behold, but we were able to rebuild. The funds that I’m raising will be going to help family members and friends in Lucea and surrounding communities in the city of Lucea which is the capital of Hanover. I had the privilege to meet a security guard who worked at the hotel and he explained to me that he had visited areas in the parish Westmoreland the town of Peters Field where homes are totally destroyed. The owners of these homes are temporary place of rest is the school that survive Hurricane Melisa. I had visited Peters Field and what I saw makes me cry. This is why from the beginning I started this fundraiser 

What Hurricane Melisa has done to the island of Jamaica is like a bomb demolishing homes and businesses in some areas as far as the eye can see. So I’m reaching out to any person, any companies, or organizations. Please help me meet the needs of the victims of Melisa, the Jamaican surviving citizens in this time of distress.

Many communities have been hit hard, and many families are facing loss, damages, and uncertainty. Many homes have been totally destroyed, and essentials have been swept away by powerful floodwaters. Many will be starting from nothing, and many will not be able to rebuild, but if you can assist in any way, it will be much appreciated.

I’m raising funds to help as many people as I can, and this is for immediate relief. Your support will go to provide food, water, and other essential supplies as needed for those who are hurting right now. My minimum starting point for funds is $4,000.
