Support the Wright triplets

Happy surprise! You’re pregnant. Huge surprise! You’re having triplets. Wow! What do you do when you hear that news? My niece, Erika Wright, and her wife, Jenni, are trying to figure that out. They are having triplets: two boys and a girl. Wait! Whoa! You mean soon there will be six? Yes, they will be a family of six in July, if not sooner.
For those who don’t know Erika and Jenni well, let me tell you a little more. They live in Alameda, California. They are already awesome parents. Jenni is a stay-at-home mom taking care of their beautiful 3-year old daughter, Fiona.  Erika is the breadwinner and does a wonderful job providing for the family on a single income. While they are overjoyed with the prospects of a growing family, they are overwhelmed with what it means to add three little ones all at once. Their minds and hearts are filled with questions of what lies ahead:

·         How will we manage our increased financial responsibilities on one income?

·         How will we physically take care of three new infants at once?

·         What about a car to fit the whole family?

·         Where will we live?

·         What if the babies need an extended stay in the Neonatal ICU?

·         What about Fiona? How will she handle this and how do we handle her?

·         And the list goes on…

You’re probably wondering what you can do to help. Most of us can’t physically help take care of the babies, but if each of us helps a little financially, we can make a big difference for the Wright family.

I’d like to kick off this campaign by inviting all of you to help Erika and Jenni buy a minivan. This will allow them to transport all four kids in car seats. They have a trade-in worth about $6,000 and will need appx $20,000 more to get a long-term reliable vehicle. When this need is met, we’ll share other crucial needs as they come up. For example, it is likely that one or more of the babies will need an extended stay in the NICU. That will put a big financial strain on the family so we’ll cross that bridge if we come to it and pray that we won’t.

Let’s show the Wright family that they have a large, loving community of support behind them. It truly takes a village to raise triplets and I want to be part of Erika’s and Jenni’s village.
