Wounded COS sheriff in line of duty

On Feb 5, at 4 PM, while attempting to apprehend a motor vehicle theft suspect, Scott Stone was shot in the hip and seriously injured by the subject. Scott was taken to the hospital by extremely attentive emergency medical personnel and after surgery, conducted by knowledgeable and compassionate hospital staff, is now recovering. It will likely take 2 to 6 months for a full recovery.
Scott is married and has one 2 year old son. Scott is third generation law enforcement following his father and grandfather. Scott's grandfather was killed in the line of duty. His father retired from law enforcement. Scott sister is also a patrol deputy with the sheriff's office.

Due to the long road to recovery ahead.  We are asking for help for his family, due to the limited % of work comp his family will receive during this time, and for the unknown future.
