With Emily's Journey to Wellness

Hi, I'm Diane, a friend of Marc and Emily's. I've set up this GoFundMe site to help with them during this difficult time while Emily is in the hospital and starting a journey toward wellness.

Marc shared the story of what happened to Emily on their CaringBridge site when he launched her page.

"Sunday, April 16 at dinner in Dover-Foxcroft, Emily experienced a subarachnoid hemorrhage due to an aneurysm, meaning a vessel in her brain started bleeding. She got great care, as a hospital was two streets away, and then after calls to four hospitals, she was LifeFlighted to Portland.

The team at the hospital. Apparently, these are relatively common. In fact, for some reason, they have quite a few people with this have been admitted in the last day or two.

They expect people with subarachnoid hemorrhages to be in the hospital for a couple weeks.

The nurse again reminded me she's in really good hands. And said Emily got care faster than most - which is great."

Emily's journey to wellness is just getting started, and it is happening far from their home, which means that in addition to significant unexpected medical costs, it also means significant unexpected additional housing and travel costs.
