Hi everyone,
My name is Destiny, and I’m fundraising for my aunt, Eliana. For the past three years, my grandmother and I have been her full-time caregivers after she suffered a cardiac arrest that led to an anoxic brain injury on May 5th, 2022 — just seven days after the heartbreaking loss of my mom, her sister.
Since that day, life has completely changed for Eliana and our family. She lives at home and requires 24/7 care. She is nonverbal but communicates in her own special way, and though she isn’t mobile, her spirit continues to shine through every small victory.
Our biggest challenge right now is transportation. Eliana is wheelchair-bound and mostly bedridden, and we rely on insurance-provided rides to get her to her doctor’s appointments. Unfortunately, this service has been extremely unreliable… we’ve been stranded, picked up late, or left waiting for hours, which puts her at risk of bedsores and pain from sitting too long in her chair.
We’re raising funds to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van that will finally give Eliana the freedom and dignity she deserves. Having our own van would mean:
• We could safely and comfortably get her to her appointments on time.
• She could enjoy simple moments outside her home — fresh air, family outings, holidays, and connection.
• We would no longer have to rely on unreliable transportation that often leaves her in discomfort or distress.
Eliana has been through more than most can imagine, yet every day she continues to fight with quiet strength and grace. This van would make a world of difference- not just for her comfort and health, but for her overall quality of life.
If you’re able to donate or even share this campaign, our family would be deeply grateful. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to giving Eliana the mobility, care, and freedom she deserves.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting Eliana’s journey.
With love and gratitude,
Destiny
