Hello, my name is Zahra and I am fundraising for a friend and her family in Gaza.

The family consists of 6 people (for their privacy and safety, I will not be mentioning names.)

I live in the US and have been friends with the mother for years. It truly breaks my heart into pieces to see what she and her family are going through.

Update (04/29/25):

Originally, this GoFundMe was started to support the family leave Gaza. Unfortunately, with how things played out that is not possible anymore. Our main focus right now is to help the family as much as we can with rent, food, etc.

My friend has contacted me recently saying that the price of everything is x4 of what it originally was. With that being said and no money it makes it extremely hard to get anything.

She once told me about the food situation stating, “We are in a state of hunger which is not describable . It’s been a year and a half, forget meat or chicken, we haven’t seen them in over a year.” “Food is the least of our worries. We don’t eat anything anyway. Just bread, and that too it is limited.” She also told me when they manage to buy bread, let’s say, 10 pieces, she distributes one piece per person, telling each one, “This is your share for the whole day.” Her main concern is rent. Rent has become insanely expensive, what used to be around 400 RS monthly is now 1,200. They are 4 months behind on rent, struggling severely looking for ways to get that covered.

Our goal is to help this family and the displaced people they took in their home remain in that apartment.
