Dear Friends and Family,
Jeffrey (Jeff) Wilson is a US Navy veteran and Railroad Engineering graduate of Gateway Community College in New Haven, CT. He comes from North Hampton, NH. On 01/06/2019 Jeff was in a terrible accident. While working underneath a friends pickup truck, the jack gave way and the truck crushed him. He is currently transitioning from critical to serious condition. He has gone through 4 surgeries already and doctors have explained that he has many more along with months of physical therapy.
Jeff enlisted into the US Navy at the age of 22 to serve his country during Desert Storm and the Iranian Conflict. He started working at Metro-North Railroad after finishing college in 2012, always working hard so he could be able to provide a good life for his family. Nobody ever expected this unexpected turn in his life. He is a very kind hearted person and always tries to help everyone possible. If you know Jeff you know that if you needed anything he would always be there to help and never asked for anything in return. He would fix your car, build you a porch, remodel your bathroom, replace electrical, and fix your plumbing. A master of all trades who would never accept payment other than knowing your were happy.
When Jeff got off of work at 8:00AM and returned home this incident happened. In an attempt to replace a brake line for his friend, the jack failed and the truck collapsed breaking multiple ribs, fracturing 2 vertebrae, and crushing his foot and ankle. By a miracle an off duty EMT passing by saw it happen and called 911. With help from the stranger and Jeff’s neighbors, they were able to remove him from under the truck and slow the bleeding until the paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital.
Sadly, during the commotion, Jeff’s wife Dawn fell down the stairs and fractured her left kneecap and severely sprained her right ankle. Right now she is in a wheelchair unable to walk more than a few feet with crutches. She will be out of work until cleared by a doctor. With Dawn being out of work, the household income will be much less and therefore it will become difficult to afford everything they both require.
As family, we believe it is our responsibility to help Jeff and Dawn with financial assistance and help his family in these difficult times. We appreciate it if you can help in any way for their cause.
Money raised will be used for the following:
1. Healthcare expenses that are not covered by insurance.
2. Rehabilitation expenses that are not covered by insurance.
3. Monthly household expenses, as he will not be able to work for at least 8 months or more.
4. Handicap ramp for Jeff when he is released, and Dawn currently.
We are not expecting to reach a specific goal due to the costs of the next 12 months being extremely uncertain. We also ask if all of you could pray for his speedy recovery.
Thank you all so much.
