When it rains it pours
Well we’ll well when you thought 2020. Couldn’t get worse, it did! A month after Larry lost his mother to a stroke we made a trip after teaching to Sparks to deliver his mother’s ashes to his father and one of his brothers. When we returned home at 3am we fell fast asleep. Little did we know we were going to wake up to a nightmare. I sat up in bed at 9:52 this morning and wondered what the splashing noise was. We flew out of bed to find our entire home 1,400 square feet under water and our 3 year old splashing in her new found bedroom swimming pool.
So..... after 12 hours of packing belongings, hanging out with Serv Pro and 5 suitcases worth we are now living in a hotel and we’re told - “ you should be home by Christmas!”
Our home will be packed out before the floors and Sheetrock are taken out. A majority of our furniture will most likely be going to the dump and they will be deciding if our kitchen is going to be gutted! We are now faced with our $3000 deductible and unknown expenses that may not be covered by insurance.
To make our situation even better I start with students in person in 48 hours and Larry and Bennett will be zooming from Homewood Suites. We are not the family who ever asks for donations but we are in desperate need of help. Thank you for donations in advance!
