Welsh SUP Athletes Emily Evans and Joe Jones are very proud to have been selected by the Welsh Surfing Federation (WSF) to represent their country and compete for a world title at the upcoming ISA World SUP & Paddleboarding Championships at Copenhagen in September. This week long event is self-funded and they are reaching out to let you know that they are fundraising to help raise £1000 towards costs, such as entry fees of 250 Euros per event, travel, equipment transportation and accommodation. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and go a long way in supporting Emily and Joe in their goal of competing on the world stage on behalf of Wales.
Emily Evans is an experienced and outstanding SUP athlete based in Barry. In 2022 she competed in the European Championships in Hvide Sande, Denmark, winning a bronze medal in the sprint event. Although not a stranger to International competition, this will be her first ISA World Championship and she is enthusiastically looking forward to competing amongst the world’s best in Technical and Sprint events.
Joe Jones is based in Swansea/Gower and has rapidly built a name for himself for his determination and success in competitive SUP racing. Joe has overcome two major shoulder surgeries to solve recurring shoulder dislocations. With the expert coaching of Emily King, he is greatly honoured to have qualified to represent Wales in just his second racing season. He will compete in the long distance and sprinting events.
Emily and Joe qualified for the championships at the Fishguard Bay Open Event in June and driven by their strong desire to compete at the highest level, they are preparing with hard work, dedication and commitment.
They would like to thank you for considering this request. If you could also share the fundraising link with your friends, it would mean so much and help reach the goal more quickly. There are just 7 weeks to go !
