Vocal Surgery Revision Recovery Fund
Spende geschützt
Hello,
On April 12th, 2024, I had a feminizing laryngoplasty (FEMLAR) surgical procedure to produce a more feminine sounding voice. I'm now 8 months post op and still struggling to speak properly. I've had a Stroboscopy and Endoscopy performed and it has been deemed necessary for me to have revision surgery to correct vocal cord asymmetry, affecting my ability to speak, severely.
I'm due to have fly overseas for revision surgery on Jan 12, 2025.
The recovery for this procedure is lengthy, and I will not be able to work very much if at all for minimum 1 month following revision surgery.
I'm self employed, meaning I get no sick pay or paid time off while I'm recovering, so I'm asking for your assistance to help me through my recovery period.
Having my voice non-functional for so long has been devastating for my mental health, causing me to become incredibly depressed and to question the point and worth of my own life. This procedure was meant to increase my confidence with my voice, as for most of my life i've hated my own voice, and due to these potential complications it has had the opposite effect. I'd like to be able to get this addressed very quickly, so I can start to get my life back on track. Revision surgery is the only way forward at this point.
The cost of revision is covered, however there are still hospital fees, flights, and bills due while I'm recovering. All funds raised will be put towards covering these costs.
Thankyou,
