Vietnam National Women's 7's Team
Donation protected
Hello!!
My name is An Hoàng and myself, along with Natalie Nguyen and our teammates, play national level rugby 7's for our home country of Vietnam. We've formed this team from scratch and are helping to make women's rugby more accessible there AND to help grow the sport as it is so new back home. This is also the FIRST EVER women's rugby 7's team in Vietnam!!
Vietnam is one of the last countries in SE Asia to have a full rugby union & federation formed, and the broader goal of Asia Rugby and World Rugby is to grow and expand rugby in SE Asia.
Our first goal is to be able to compete this fall in Bangkok International 7's. The Pay to Play model can get extemely expensive for national level athletes. Half of our team lives back home in Vietnam and half are living abroad, and together we are doing what we can in order to make competition accessible and a real possibility for them, and for us. This is why we made this GoFundMe campaign.
PLEASE consider supporting our national level campaign so that one day in the future, pay to play is no longer a reality for us. Putting on the national jersey and playing for your country is an incredible honour.
To Learn More, please click the link below to check out the interview I did with CBC Vancouver The Early Edition - the segment starts at 02:40:59
