Heart Throb is a coming of age drama about a 17-year-old aspiring guitarist, Mel and her relationship to her idol, a charming pop Rockstar, Hugo Turner.
Hugo, like many celebrities, has a strong and loyal fanbase devoted to him that Mel is a part of. She has to face his real side though when accusations of him being inappropriate with fans come out. She has to realise that if the amount of passion and devotion she put into her beloved musician would go towards her own goals, she would be much happier.
This is one of our final year films at UWE Bristol and we have big plans for it. From festivals to online distribution we would like this project to go as far as it can, but we will need a little bit of help with that.
We are proud of the fact that most of our heads of departments are women, which is unfortunately still a rarity in the industry! The entire crew worked really hard on making this idea a reality and the input from everyone made this film so special and real.

The director, Chloe Law, wanted to put a spin on everyday drama, with shooting the entire film in one location that creatively transforms into a concert venue, or a live talk show set, merging reality with the main character’s imagination.
This movie is solely self-funded, all donations will go towards distribution. We truly appreciate any help, Thank You!
