Medical Care for Buddy

Hey Humans!

I'm Buddy, but you can call me Bud or Bubba. I'm here because me and my foster mommy, Kayla, Need Your Help.

My Foster mommy rescued me on 1/19/2020. I was found on a nicer older ladie's porch, but she couldn't help me. My foster mommy saw my picture and said she had to get me. When I saw her I just started crying. She let me lay on her chest while she took me to this really cool new place that has heat, fluffy blankets, and super soft beds. I have my own food and water bowl now. She is a great cook because the food is SO GOOD. 10/10 would recommend.  I was kinda upset when she gave me a bath, but she dried me off. I got to sleep on this super warm thing called ....ughh..... I think you guys call it a heating pad or something.

I didn't know this kind of warmth existed.

Today, 1/20/2020 I went to the vet. Everyone was super excited to see me! I got held by so many pretty ladies. I was in and out of it a lot because I had some stuff done, was sedated for a bit, and on pain medicine. So I'll let Kayla tell you about that.

Right now, I'm starting to feel better. I am enjoying my fuzzy blankets and snuggles.

P.S. Medical Notes from Foster Mom

When I found this baby, he had no upper lip and didn't bear weight on his back left leg.  We had exams and xrays done and he has a POSITIVE diagnosis. They were able to lift some of the lip up. He is on antibiotics, cleansing spray, and light pain beds.

This is where the expensive part comes in. He needs surgery for a head femeral fracture ( i think that's what its called, but its a fracture in the hip area). The vet said once the jaw is healed he can have his surgery.

This surgery needs to be done within 2 to 4 weeks from today 1/20/2020.  He HAS to have this surgery because he has muscular atrophy in that leg, meaning he has little muscle mass which he will need to use the leg properly.

The doctors said he will be able to use his leg at 100% capacity with this surgery. It will take time to heal and for him to gain muscle, but he will be COMPLETELY able to live  a QUALITY life. He will just need to gain muscle. Plus his mouth may be a bit "gimpy".

The doctor determined he has had these injuries for about a 4 to 6 weeks, and he is only about 12ish weeks old.

He is SO sweet. He just wants to be held. I have to hold him even when using the restroom.

We paid 575 today at the vet.

Surgery is estimated to be a max of 1500.

All funds raised are going straight to his medical expenses. I have the receipts and estimates and I will share those upon request.

Please help us heal this angel of a kitty.
