My name is julia castro mother of 4 wonder children whom i love and adore.Marco 25 randy 20 pris 18 and valarie the little one 14 .I am a G.I.S.D speacial education aide for 15 yrs.In my job i spend time helping others . Well now I'm in need of help. Unfortunately my oldest son marco has recently been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (cancer of the blood ) Marco as of just few months ago was indenpent young man trying to make a life and a name for himself. His life has done a complete 180 and now is dependent on others on just about the most basic things like taking a shower and getting dressed.
After going to the doctor for what he thought was a sore throat and months later of just getting worse. Having blood work done and finding out he had Mono and then Pneumonia. So after several months of doctor visits and going to the ER twice he was finally sent back to the ER by our doctor saying that my son may be having an attack of Acute Leukemia. My son now faces a life threatining illness that has now put a hold on his life within just a month of being diagnosed he has undergone plasma pheresis, blood transfusions, including several bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures, and of course rounds of chemotherapy. As a mother you never want to see your kids hurt or struggle in life and my son having cancer is something I never thought could be a possibility. He has been so strong through all of this never asking the obvious questions anyone would ask. Why me or what have I done to deserve this, if anything gets to him it would be the fact that he's sad that his brother and sisters have to see him go through Cancer.
Marco will be going through more chemo for the next several months and having an Ommaya resevoir planted in his brain where the chemo will go through. He will also need a bone marrow transplant in upcoming months where we will be going to San Antonio to do the surgery. At this time we find ourselves in need of financial assistance in order to pay medical bills all donations are welcome.
