Dear Friends and Family,
I am asking you to help pay for my surgery on March 9th. In 2015, I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis, which affects the stomach's ability to empty. Over the past two years, I have suffered numerous episodes of severe vomiting and extremely high blood pressures which have resulted in me being hospitalized over 50 times. As you can imagine, this has taken a toll on my body and I am currently in Renal Failure Stage 4. It is the recommendation of my medical team that I have Gastric surgery where the surgeon will remove a portion of my stomach, which will cease the vomiting and regulate my blood pressure. The procedure will also slow down the progression of the renal failure. Although, I have medical insurance , it will not cover the cost of my surgery. After several appeals from myself, my doctors and other health advocates of the medicall necessity of this procedure, the insurance company has still deemed this as elective. The total cost of my procedure is $30,000. To date, we have paid the hospital $15,000. Again, I request your support in securing the remaining balance. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story. Any assistance provided is greatly appreciated.
Thanks you and God bless,
Carletta
