URGENT Help for stray cats & dogs shelter Morocco

Alexandra Pinna, from Canada, and I, from Switzerland are volunteers and very close friends of a young woman named Hajar Aourz who lives in Salé, Morocco. Hajar takes in over 150 cats and around 20 puppies and dogs who are sick or disabled. Hajar Aourz has rescued over 100 adult dogs from the dreadful conditions they were living in on the streets. She cares for them on a plot of land that she rents and is determinated to keep them safe from slaughtering is going on apace in Morocco. Hajar Aourz is a strong and determined young woman.

Her objective is not to save the world, but to save as many dogs and cats as possible, who all too often endure extreme suffering. Morocco is a cruel country for animals. Sterilization is the only way to curb the proliferation of stray dogs and cats, who will have nothing but a life of misery and suffering. However maintening these 2 shelters has become impossible due to multiple complains by Hajar'neighbors and because of problems inherent to the rented land, such as lake of water (every day, we have to fill a tank that remains at the back of the vehicle). Lack of electricity (we have to wear headlamps at night to feed the dogs). Lack of space (there is only enough room for 30-40 dogs).

What's more, it's 1.5 hours from Hajar's home which represents many hours wasted on the road.

Because she does not have any resources at her disposal, Hajar Aourz works like 10 people, alone without employees because she doesn't have the resources. This is an urgent need to run the 2 shelters in a single location, far away from everything, for the safety of the animals.

A large plot of land 7,500m2 with water and electricity has been found for a shelter. This plot would be big enough to accommodate all these dogs and cats and even more.

The land is bare. There is nothing, no fence, no shelter, no building to store food, medicine, no room in which to sleep if necessary. There's NOTHING! EVERYTHING has to be DONE!

It would not be a first-class refuge by any means. As that would cost far too much to build. But it would offer the minimum needed to bring the animals together in one place, so that they can be protected from the elements, such as the heat in the summer. This new shelter would also to serve to keep them safe and cared for until they can be adopted in Europe or North America.

This fund-raising campaign is of the utmost urgency because the land could be sold and the situation is deteriorating with the neighbors

It is absolutely IMPERATIVE to move all the cats and dogs out of their current location as quickly as possible, as they are in serious danger.

Hajar Aourz urgently needs your help!

For several years now, Alexandra and I have been doing our maximum to help Hajar Aourz. We know her very well, are very close and I visit her. She is our Moroccan Brigitte Bardot, who fights every day without respite. She cares for many animals that are victims of disease, accidents, torture, poisoning and abandonment. Because of this we felt the urgent need to come to her aid. The food and the veterinarian care costs are very high, and because donations are few and fare between, debts are piling up.

Please help Hajar Aourz get out of this abyss so that she can continue to look after and safeguard the nearly 250 dogs and cats in her care.

Alexandra Pinna du Canada et moi, de Suisse sommes des bénévoles et amies très proches d'une jeune femme du nom d'Hajar Aourz qui vit à Salé au Maroc. Hajar accueille à son domicile plus de 150 chats et une vingtaine de chiots et chiens malades ou handicapés. Sur un terrain qu'elle loue, près de 100 chiens adultes sortis de l'enfer de la rue ont été soignés et mis en sécurité car les abattages vont bon train au Maroc.

Hajar Aourz est une jeune femme forte et déterminée. Non pas à sauver le monde mais à sauver le maximum de chiens et chats qui endurent trop souvent des souffrances extrêmes. Le Maroc est un pays cruel pour les animaux. Les stérilisations sont le seul moyen d'endiguer la prolifération de tous ces chiens et chats errants qui n'auront rien d'autre qu'une vie de misère et de souffrance.

Aujourd'hui, la situation de ces 2 refuges n'est plus du tout possible en raison de multiples plaintes de voisinage du domicile d'Hajar. Mais aussi de la problématique du terrain loué qui n'a ni eau (chaque jour, il faut remplir une citerne qui se trouve en permanence à l'arrière du véhicule) ni électricité (il faut nourrir les chiens la nuit à la lampe frontale) et qui est devenu bien trop exigu (prévu pour 30-40 chiens). De plus, il se trouve à 1 heure 30 du domicile d'Hajar. C'est donc un trop grand nombre d'heures perdues sur la route.

Hajar Aourz travaille comme 10 personnes, seule sans employés car elle n'en a pas les moyens. Il y a donc urgence de réunir les 2 refuges à un seul et même endroit, loin de tout pour la sécurité des animaux.

Un grand terrain d'une surface de 7'500m2 équipé en eau et électricité a été trouvé pour y construire un refuge. Ce refuge pourrait accueillir tous ces chiens et ces chats et même plus.

Ce terrain est nu. Il n'y a rien, aucune clôture, aucun abri, aucun bâtiment pour stocker la nourriture, les médicaments, dormir si nécessaire. Il n'y a RIEN ! TOUT est à FAIRE !

Oh, ce ne serait pas un refuge first classe loin de là. Cela coûterait bien trop cher de construire. C'est juste le minimum pour réunir tous les animaux au même endroit. Qu'ils soient à l'abri des intempéries comme du soleil et de la chaleur 50° en été. Et bien sûr qu'ils restent sécurisés en attendant peut-être une adoption en Europe ou en Amérique du Nord.

Cette cagnotte est donc d'une extrême URGENCE car

- le terrain pourrait être vendu

- la situation s'envenime avec le voisinage

Il est absolument IMPÉRATIF de déplacer au plus vite tous les chats et les chiens car ils sont sérieusement menacés.

Hajar Aourz a besoin de votre aide de toute URGENCE !!

Depuis plusieurs années, Alexandra et moi-même faisons notre maximum pour aider Hajar Aourz. Nous la connaissons très bien, sommes très proches et ma famille lui ŕend visite. C'est notre Brigitte Bardot marocaine qui se bat chaque jour sans répit. Elle prend soin de tellement d'animaux qui sont victimes de maladies, accidents, tortures, abandons que nous devons lui venir en aide. Le budget nourriture est lui-même très important et c'est sans compter les frais vétérinaires. Les dons sont rares. Les dettes s'accumulent. Sortons Hajar Aourz de ce gouffre pour qu'elle puisse continuer à oeuvrer et sécuriser près de 250 chiens et chats
