Urgent Help for Burger's Critical Surgery

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for help for one of our rescue dogs, Burger, who is in urgent need of life-saving surgery.

Burger came to us through our rescue and won over every heart he met. He’s a goofy, lovable pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. But over the past week, Burger hasn’t been himself—he’s been vomiting, lethargic, and unable to eat. We were incredibly concerned, and after an ER visit, multiple "regular" vet visits and tests, an ultrasound revealed the devastating news: Burger has a serious obstruction that is bending his stomach. He needs an emergency laparotomy to remove it and give him a chance at survival.

This surgery is critical and time-sensitive. Without it, Burger's condition will continue to worsen, and he won’t make it. Our vet said from his initial Xrays and blood tests that everything is in range and he is in tip top shape, with the exception of this.

The estimate for the surgery and follow-up care is more than we expected. That’s why we’re turning to our community, to friends, to animal lovers, and to anyone who believes every dog deserves a fighting chance.
