On January 23, 2025 my dad went to the doctors to get full blood work due to having excruciating headaches. He was prescribed medication for hypertension. Little did we know, 24 hours later he would suffer from an ischemic stroke that has him now fighting for his life. On January 24th his surgeon was able to clear out most of his clots but was unsuccessful on clearing the one out of his right carotid artery, which is the main one that takes blood to the brain. We got the news that scans confirmed part of his brain has died due to lack of oxygen. He is currently paralyzed on the left side. He had underwent another surgery that day to remove a piece of his skull due to the immense swelling of the brain. He’s currently sedated in the ICU while we surround him with love and prayers.
As we navigate through this challenging period, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the importance of family. My siblings and I are doing our best to support our mother, but the emotional and financial burdens are overwhelming since our father was our sole provider. We are trying to maintain some sense of normalcy for our younger siblings while also being present at the hospital for our dad.
The medical expenses are piling up, and we are unsure of what the future holds. Rehabilitation will be a long road, and we are committed to being there for him every step of the way. Any assistance we can receive will help alleviate some of the financial stress and allow us to focus on what truly matters: being together as a family during this critical time.
We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from our community, friends, and family. Your prayers, messages, and donations mean more than we can express. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing our story or simply sending positive thoughts our way.
We will keep everyone updated on my dad’s progress and appreciate any continued support as we face this new chapter in our lives. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for helping us keep hope alive.
