Support The Straders After Heartbreaking Tragedy

I would like to tell you a little about us. My name is Grant and my wifes name is Megan. We are a hardworking, loving couple raising our 9-year-old daughter in a small town in Minnesota. We both have full time jobs and were pretty comfortable in our normal routine. Life was simple and steady—until everything changed in an instant.

We woke up one Monday to devastating news: my two children from a previous marriage, ages 11 and 14, lost their mother in a tragic car accident. Even more heartbreaking, my daughter was also in the car at the time. She was in the back seat, not wearing a seat belt, when their vehicle was struck by a semi-truck. She is now in the hospital out of state, fighting for her life. She has suffered a traumatic brain injury, multiple facial fractures, and one of her legs has been severely damaged. Her road to recovery will be long, painful, and uncertain. If I could, I would be by her side every second of the day. Unfortunately, I cant. I work full time, and have my wife, Megan and daughter, Jaelynn to take care of too.

Due to problems in my previous marriage, it has been years since I’ve been able to see or be with my children. Their mother moved frequently, and I was denied access and contact for much of their young lives. After this accident, my wife and I are stepping in to raise them full-time, support their healing, and reunite as a family under the most heartbreaking of circumstances.

Their world was turned upside down overnight. They’ve lost their mom, their home—everything they’ve known.
We are doing everything we can to support her and her brother through this trauma, but we are now facing enormous emotional and financial challenges. With her hospitalized in another state, we will have added travel and lodging expenses to be by her side — all while trying to care for our other child at home.

We are asking for help as we work to:
    •    Afford travel and lodging expenses to visit our daughter in the hospital
    •    Purchase clothing, school supplies, and basic essentials for the kids
    •    Support their emotional and psychological recovery
    •    Move into a larger home to accommodate our now family of five

This situation is overwhelming, and asking for help is not easy—but we are doing everything in our power to provide love, stability, and healing for these kids.

Every donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward rebuilding their lives and helping us move forward as a united family after this unimaginable tragedy.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, prayers, and kindness.

With deep gratitude,
Grant and Megan Strader

Getting these two kids has been a struggle every step of the way. Even though they were kept from me, I NEVER didn’t want them.

I got granted full custody of Hailee (my 11 year old in the hospital) and I am fighting for custody of my son, Lukas. I found out, he is currently in the custody of the state of Iowa, and my ex-wife’s brother is trying to get custody of him. So, your donations will also help me get a lawyer in Iowa to get my son back to me.

I know that my wife and I are the best option for these kids. And I would do anything to take their pain away.
Please, please keep them in your prayers! The more, the better!
Will keep you posted on Hailees condition and the current events. Thank you again for caring for us through these insanely stressful times. Your support and love means so much. <3

—- THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us or shared our story! We are sooo grateful to have you guys! We are taking a trip this weekend to visit Hailee, so I will be posting more pictures and giving updates on her condition. To date, she has gotten through the hardest time of her brain injury. They said the swelling peaks at 72 hours. The amazing doctors there have kept in under control, and I am just anxious for her to be able to wake up. Please keep her in your prayers!

Update 7/24- Headed to SD to see Hailee. We are very grateful to all of you who donated and shared our story so we can make this trip for the weekend. We are anxious to spend the weekend with her. The doctor called and said they got a feeding tube in for her, got a tracheotomy so she can breathe easier… just for now while she is undergoing facial reconstruction surgery. They are fixing all of her bones in her face through her mouth so she wont have scars on the outside. I have a lot of faith in these doctors. It makes it easier for me to not be able to be around, knowing these doctors are taking good care of my beautiful daughter. I will post some pics tomorrow

7/27- Hailee was doing VERY GOOD today! She was a little unstable yesterday and had a fever, but she is doing great today! Her vitals are all perfect. Im suuuuper sad I had to leave… i wish more than anything she was closer. But i am going back this upcoming weekend. oh also, it will only let me put 5 pics on here unfortunately.

**** I had a brilliant idea!! ****

Driving home, my wife came across another guy who is struggling to come up with lawyer fees to fight a custody battle for his kids. So I would like to start an LLC or nonprofit type organization to help support fathers who need help paying for lawyers to get to see their kids! Its a God given right, people! Nobody should be kept away from their own kids when theres no reason!
