A lot of you may not know us but you know our parents Jason Undesser and Billie Undesser. A year ago after saving all of their pennies our parents were finally able to buy our family a home that we thought we would be able to grow up in. But on Christmas this fate changed. Mom had to bring dad to the hospital. After opening presents Dad was having lots of pain in his body and was swelling from his toes all the way up to his belly. It was scary to see Dad in that much pain.
Dad was in the hospital for 2 weeks he under went lots of different testing to find out that he has a strange and rare kidney disease that is super hard to pernouns. Dad has stage 4 Membranous Nephropathy (MEM-bruh-nus nuh-FROP-uh-thee) this kidney disease will lead to his kidneys failing and will cause heart issues. The doctors can not figure out a reason for Dad to have this disease.
When Dad was finally able to come home we had to change a lot of thing that we normally did. Mom says that we are being wonderful kids for helping Dad get used to all of the new things that he has to do. Dad seems to be doing okay at the moment but is always in a lot of pain and very tired.
When Dad seemed to not be getting any better with what the doctors were giving him, Mom took Dad to see a special doctor at the Mayo Clinic. They put him on some new medicine that makes it very easy for him to get sick and causes him to be even more tired. We try our best to make sure the house is alway clean and have to be careful not to play with our friends if they are sick.
With Dad not feeling well he has been unable to work as much and even though it is wonderful to have him home all the time we know that it is hard on Mom. She is very sad because she is worried that we will not be able to keep us in our home. Mom says that she has to keep paying for Dad's medication and doctor bills so that he can feel better.
Anything you can do to help would be so kind. Sharing our story with others, saying a prayer, and kind words for our Dad and Mom are much appreciated. There is no way we can thank you enough for helping our family keep our home and cure our Daddy!
Love,
Mika and Taya Undesser
