UN Youth Australia reconciliation trip of a lifetime
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Rebekah and I'm Isis Murray-Smith's mum. Isis was just accepted after a gruelling application and interview process to join the UN Youth Australia Aotearoa trip. The Aotearoa Tour (AT) is a two-week tour to New
Zealand in September-October to explore the indigenous rights, culture and reconciliation.
The Aotearoa Tour (AT) is an opportunity for high school students to explore Australia’s relationship with its first peoples through an intercultural tour of New Zealand. It aims to support delegates in gaining awareness and understanding of the issues Indigenous peoples face at home and abroad, and in developing the necessary skills to take action on these issues in their communities.
This is an amazing opportunity for Isis to learn about her own Māori cultural background and connect with her ancestral land and traditions, as well as learning about reconciliation for Australian First Nations Peoples.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and we, her parents, are so proud of her achieving this wonderful opportunity.
We would love some help from our community to be able to send her on this trip.
Thank you so much for your contribution. We really appreciate it, and know our beautiful daughter Isis will learn so much from this trip.
