La nostra missione è portare l’acqua a chi ne ha più bisogno

Siamo un gruppo di ragazzi di Modena che ha scelto di vivere un'esperienza di volontariato in Zimbabwe, presso il Sant Albert Mission Hospital.

Qui abbiamo conosciuto la forza e la dignità di una comunità che ogni giorno affronta una sfida enorme: l'acqua è a chilometri di distanza dal villaggio.

A portarla a casa sono donne e bambini, che percorrono strade di campagna piene di sassi, rocce, salite e discese. Spesso camminano sotto il sole per ore, trasportando fino a due secchi a testa.

Quell'acqua, faticosamente raccolta, è usata per bere, cucinare e lavarsi: l'essenziale per vivere.

Questa è una comunità che già si sta impegnando moltissimo, sia sul piano sociale che medico, per migliorare la propria vita. Ma la mancanza di acqua vicina rallenta ogni progresso: con il vostro aiuto, un pozzo permetterà di velocizzare questo percorso, liberando tempo ed energie per crescere, studiare, curarsi e costruire un futuro migliore.

Abbiamo capito che il primo passo per cambiare il futuro del villaggio è costruire un pozzo d'acqua vicino alle case, così da dare a tutti la possibilità di avere acqua pulita senza rischi e senza sforzi disumani.

Un pozzo non è solo acqua: è salute, istruzione e speranza. Significa che i bambini potranno andare a scuola invece di trasportare secchi, e che le famiglie potranno vivere con più dignità.

Con il vostro aiuto, possiamo scavare questo pozzo e cambiare per sempre la vita di centinaia di persone.

Our mission is to bring water to those who need it most

We are a group of young people from Modena, Italy, who chose to live a volunteer experience in Zimbabwe, at the Sant Albert Mission Hospital.

Here, we witnessed the strength and dignity of a community facing an enormous challenge every day: water is kilometers away from the village.

It is mainly women and children who carry it home, walking along rough country roads filled with stones, rocks, climbs, and descents. Often, they walk for hours under the sun, carrying up to two buckets each.

That hard-earned water is used for drinking, cooking, and washing—the essentials of life.

This is a community already deeply committed, socially and medically, to improving its future. But the lack of nearby water slows down every step: with your help, a well will accelerate this progress, freeing time and energy to grow, study, heal, and build a better tomorrow.

We realized that the very first step to changing the future of the village is to build a water well close to the houses, giving everyone access to clean water without risk and without inhuman effort.

A well is not just water: it is health, education, and hope. It means children can go to school instead of carrying buckets, and families can live with greater dignity.
