On Tuesday, March 16th, 10-year-old Tyson (whom I call my nephew), was in a terrible accident involving a street sweeper.


He was hit by the street sweeper, trapped under the truck itself, and dragged (along with his bicycle), for about a block and a half before the truck finally stopped and he somehow got himself out… we’re beyond amazed and unbelievably thankful he’s alive. 

As a result of this horrific accident, Ty sustained multiple serious injuries, including a fractured knee, fractured elbow, severe road rash all over his body (some of which will require skin grafting), & deep lacerations across his face/back of his head, amongst other things… He’s been on a feeding tube all week (he was in too much pain to eat on his own), is unable to walk, and can only use one of his hands at this stage. Seeing him like this has been absolutely heartbreaking. 

We're seeing some improvements every day, but he’s already undergone 4 different surgeries and we know there are more to come...


Tyson’s mom, Ashley, hasn’t left his side since the accident and has not been able to work or leave the hospital at all. With the severity of Tyson’s injuries, he has needed around-the-clock care to help with even the most basic of tasks. Tyson’s sister, Marli, has been staying with me and my husband and also hasn’t seen her mother or brother at all since the accident. 


I created this Go Fund Me to help raise money for Ashley to help with bills and other expenses that we know are stacking up during this incredibly difficult time for her family. With all the uncertainty that this accident has caused, I only want to try and help Ashley get through this a little easier. 

There have been so many people asking for ways they can assist during this difficult time and financial assistance, is the main thing that will help them.

My goal in doing this is to give Ashley as MUCH peace of mind as possible, all things considered. I’d like to raise enough for her to have her mortgage paid for 3-6 months, in addition to her other bills.
