Tyler's Stroke Financial Support Fund

Donation protected
On February 24th, 2022, Tyler Bertolone celebrated his 31st birthday and prepared to perform another weekend of shows. Shortly after his last performance, he suffered a severe stroke. His prognosis is still unclear and his fight has just begun, but the looming medical expenses have already begun to mount.

A testament to Tyler’s spirit, his friends have quickly rallied together to organize support for him and his family, and we can use any help we can get. To know Tyler is to know an endlessly caring soul and spark of energy that will not back down.

While we're all in shock that a healthy 31-year-old could encounter such unexpected medical trauma, we believe in Tyler’s resilience.

WHAT HAPPENED
Tyler was performing when he began to notice discomfort in his shoulder and arm. Doctors suspect Tyler may have pinched the main artery on the right side of his neck when he performed a staged roll/fall over a couch and that injury may have caused a blood clot to move into Tyler’s brain where it eventually ruptured causing him to suffer a massive stroke.

That night, Tyler never suspected the pain in his arm was anything other than standard soreness after a performance. However, by the end of the next days’ performance, Tyler’s arm was numb and he was having issues breathing. He was rushed to the ER where Doctors began treating his symptoms and quickly discovered he had developed pneumonia and severe brain swelling due to a massive stroke.

Within the first few hours of medical care, the severity of Tyler’s condition became alarmingly clear. He spent three nights in a Santa Rosa hospital and then, due to the swelling in his brain, Tyler was airlifted to Redwood City Hospital - a 2 hour drive away.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
While Tyler’s family processes the shock of this unspeakable trauma, crushing medical bills have already begun to overshadow his healing journey.

Now we, Tyler’s friends and family, ask for help.

Help us by providing relief to the family so they can focus on him and not the financial stresses that accompany an unexpected event such as this.  Already, medical costs have been incurred from two ambulance rides, an emergency airlift, and hospital stays since Sunday, February 27th - not to mention the continuing tests, medication, and intensive care he is receiving daily.

Selfless, kind and universally loved, Tyler is a force of good in this world.

If you pray, please pray. If you manifest, please manifest. We ask you to send Tyler good thoughts and energy everyday. Share Tyler's story across as many platforms as you have available.

And if you are able, please donate.

At this time, the family asks that you use this Caring Bridge Journal to stay updated on Tyler’s ongoing story.
