Help Bob kick cancers ass!!!

As if 2020 wasn’t a tough enough year for Bob. From the pandemic changing the way of life to having to battle Covid himself,  soundly winning that battle I might add, it was a long year. The calendar changed and a sense of normalcy was on the horizon.

For almost a year Bob was having issues with taste and smell, one of the most obvious side effects from Covid. However, this along with having an issue with pressure being put on one of his eyes where it would constantly water and swell it raised enough of a red flag to head to the doctor to get checked out. 

After a barrage of tests both in Indiana as well as Chicago this last week Bob was diagnosed with Olfactory Nueroblastoma, an extremely rare form of cancer that begins in the nasal cavity and can spread to the eyes and brain. The tumor is a grade 3C and the doctors have decided to begin treatment immediately. 

In order to stop the spread to other parts of the body the team of doctors which include an oncologist, neurosurgeon, ENT and ophthalmologist will start with chemotherapy and also possibly radiation. They will do this for 3 straight days and then 18 days off and compete 3 cycles before moving on to surgery. The goal is to shrink the size of the tumor so when surgery is performed it will be less invasive as there is concern about possible loss of vision in the left eye along with the possibility of never being able to taste or smell again. 

Bob, being Bob, of course asked the doctors if he could go back to work to which their response was a resounding no. The stress has already begun to take its toll as he is the sole provider in the house with his wife Missy battling her own illness, Multiple Sclerosis. 

With little to no income now coming in, having to travel to Chicago for treatments and then the follow up surgery every little bit counts. Last year was the battle with Covid, this time Bob is going to war with cancer and that is where his focus and strength needs to go to. The last thing one should have to worry about on top of defeating this dreadful thing is how they are going to afford it.

That is why I have set this up, let Bob focus on kicking cancers ass and we can all help with the rest. I know times are tough for us all these days but like I said, anything you can do to help is more than appreciated. Thank you!
