Tuition and Travel Fund

My name is Aletheia Woodford. I am a sophomore in high school. I am very ambitious and driven. I try to follow my passions and step out of my comfort zone, where the very best things are. This summer I plan to do just that. I received a scholarship that allows me to go to India on a three week trip that aims to empower young Hyderabad women through health education. Because of the travel expenses associated with intercontinental travel, my family is unable to financially support my other travel plans.

I also applied to a Yale program this summer, which I believe would be a wonderfully enriching experience for me and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am ecstatic to have been accepted into the very selective and prestigious Yale Young Global Scholars Program! This summer, with your help, I will be traveling to New Haven, CT for two weeks to study Literature, Philosophy, and Culture with the best and brightest from over 100 different countries. I applied for need-based scholarships and received $5,000. Unfortunately, my family cannot pay for the remainder of the tuition ($1,250) or the travel expenses ($450).

The due date for the full tuition expense ($1,250) is April 10th. I know this is very short notice. I just got my acceptance letter and scholarship amounts, so I’m sorry that I was unable to provide more time for your contemplation.
