Troy Hilyer- Medical Fundraiser
Donation protected
The Central Alabama Crappie Club has a friend in need. Troy Hilyer is a lifelong friend to many in our club. Not only that, he is a husband, a father to three beautiful children and he and his family are in need of some help. Below is some information from Troy on his condition:
-Troy Hilyer “My disease is called Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria or PNH for short. It is a rare life threatening disease of the blood where my body's innate immune system destroys my red blood cells. It can destroy my liver, kidneys, and any smooth muscle in my body. My bone marrow will eventually fail and I will have to have a bone marrow transplant. They can't predict how long my marrow will work or when I will need the transplant. I am high risk for blood clots or thrombosis. The drug Solaris that I am being treated with helps me to have a better quality of life and lessens the chance of a thrombotic event happening ( blood clot) and possibly killing me. I really don't know what to expect because my disease is so rare.”
As you can imagine, the cost of medical treatment for this disease is substantial. Please consider donating to Troy Hilyer and his family. Every little bit will aid in his fight with this terrible disease.
