Tristyn's Fight
Tristyn Arrow Weinberger is an intelligent, athletic, and kindhearted young man. He is 16 years old and just about to start his Junior year of High School, get his drivers license, his first job, and re-join tennis after a rather impressive start at it last year. He wants to join the Military, go to College, and become a Child Psychologist.
Unfortunately the future he imagined has changed since his diagnosis this month (August, 2018) of Aggressive Osteosarcoma in the left humerus bone that may have metastasized to his lungs. His future will now be challenging and filled with hours long trips to OHSU, chemotherapy, surgery and reconstruction, imaging, blood tests, and all the pain and side effects that go along with treatment and recovery. He will likely miss out on all the things he looked forward to the most this year. Tristyn is taken care of by a single mother working a blue collar job for not nearly enough pay for all that she does, and a sister that would give every cent to care for her family. Our little family has always prided itself on being "us against the world," in sticking together through hardship and not asking others to remedy our difficult situations. However, our family, our world has just been shaken up. We would like to humbly ask for any assistance you might be able to spare whether it's emotional support, time spent with Tristyn when he's up for it, gas cards, meals, or assistance paying for what is likely to be a hefty pile of hospital bills. We thank you very much for anything you are able to do to help Tristyn and our family through this difficult journey.
