As most of you know, my mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis almost 10 years ago now. She has significantly lost the ability to move her legs and it is becoming very difficult for her to walk. She needs assistance in the form of another person, a wheelchair, or her electric scooter to get around. Right now, there are three steps to get into her house. The second step is quite large- about 11.5 inches and there is no railing to hold onto.

On January 15th, she fell at work and hurt her knee. She drove home, walked up to the door, and couldn't physically make it up the steps to get into the house. Ultimately, she had to call my dad and have him come home from work to help her get into the house.

In terms of mobility, she is getting to the point that she needs to use a wheelchair or her electric scooter on a regular basis, however, she obviously cannot lift either into the car. 

This year, instead of asking for donations to the MS Society, I am asking for donations to directly benefit Trish for assistive technology and home modifications. 
Any money received will go towards building her a ramp and purchasing a scooter lift and cover. The scooter lift will allow her to take her scooter with her anywhere and be more mobile and able to get out of the house independently. 

Trish does not like to accept help or admit she needs it, so she does not know about this fundraiser yet.
