Treatment machine to bring home for Kaley!

Hi, this is Amy, Kaley’s mom. As many of you are aware, Kaley has CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) that is full body. She was diagnosed when she was 12 years old. It is one of the worst and most painful condition out there. Please look it up for more detailed info. Initially, there really was not a treatment or medication that did anything for it. As a parent, it was absolutely heart breaking to watch your child suffer and be in excruciating pain. After a couple of years, we were introduced to Dr. D (Kaley’s angel) that offered a treatment (Calmare) that she would possibly respond to that would take away her pain. We thank God every day for this doctor and the treatment that works for her! Unfortunately, it only puts her in remission, pain free, for about 6 months. Every 6 months, she has to go get treatments in RI or FL that usually last 2-3 weeks each time. As you can imagine, it is very disruptive (one of us has to go with her) and costly (airfare, hotel, car rental and treatments~$8,000). Many of times she would have to get 2 treatments a day. Yes we have insurance, but insurance does not pay anything, not a penny.

 

Moving forward…Kaley has started her career, getting married next year, transitioning to being on her own, and will eventually have a family. She will not be able to afford treatments on her own. Also, It’s becoming even harder to drop everything to go get treatments. We have been given the opportunity to purchase, at a very discounted price, this machine (treatment) to have in her home!! The machine will cost us $25,000 plus shipping. Her doctor will still advise when needed. This is so EXCITING and truly a BLESSING! Kaley is such a strong, loving and caring person. She has gone through way more than any kid/person should in their childhood or lifetime. We will figure out a way to purchase this machine for her. Any amount given will be very helpful to cut down on the cost. If anyone knows of other organizations that we can contact for help, please let us know.
