Transportation and Funeral for Bill Burke- My Dad

Hi everyone. Some of you may know that my father, William “Bill” Burke passed away today March 15. My dad recently had a major hip surgery after a fall on some ice, and came to visit us in Florida to help him better heal outside of the cold. Today he had been here for 8 days. He wasn’t feeling well today and we were getting around to go to the ER, and I left the room as he sat down to put on his shoes. Within about 2 mins I came back to find him unresponsive. My husband and I tried everything but the hospital said that he appeared to be gone before I even started CPR. The hospital reported that they feel he had a blood clot travel to his heart caused by the surgery on his hip, but we are having an autopsy to confirm. His death was sudden, unexpected, and deviating to all of us who knew and loved him. My dad was an amazing man who spent most of his life in the nursing field, helping care for others whether it be in nursing homes, hospice, or even the prison system. I have about a week to raise roughly $2500 to help transport my daddy back home to my mom. And I don’t know how much we need to raise for his funeral after that- I just want to get him home to my mom so she can be with him too. He had life insurance but he was just outside the coverage window to have it pay out so the funeral home said that they probably won’t pay anything. 100% of the money raised will go directly to the transportation for my dad (which will be completed by his funeral home) and funeral costs if we can get past the transport costs. My mom could loss everything while she isn’t able to work. Any little bit will help her, please. He already had many things set up on his own- the services will be held at Wilson Mortuary in Salem Missouri but we don’t have a date since we have to work out his transport before anything else.
