Trailblazer Gathering - inspiring event for Moray Girls FC
Don protégé
We are collaborating with Moray Girls Football Club to create an event to inspire and raise confidence in girls in Moray.
They will meet inspiring women from different walks of life and careers, engage in workshops and fun activities and engage in an event that is entirely built to raise their confidence, inspire creativity and to show them that they truly are Trailblazers!
Mike Duncan - Chairman of Moray Girls FC said it best:
For me, it’s about inspiring a whole generation of local girls. Through football, these girls can gain confidence and assertiveness to become leaders on the pitch. In turn, these attributes give them the skills and determination to become leaders in life. Trailblazers will be the spark that ignites a desire to be the best that they can be.
And Trailblazers will make it clear that these girls don’t have to leave Moray to achieve their highest ambitions. Locally, we need more women in well paid, highly skilled jobs. We need more female entrepreneurs. We need to reduce the gender pay gap. And we need to empower a generation of girls to seek out local opportunities, and if they don’t find them, create opportunities here for themselves.
I want my daughter, and her team-mates, to aspire to play for their local women’s team. Trailblazers will reinforce the relationship between Moray Girls and Elgin City Women.
I want my daughter, and her team-mates, to be leaders on and off the pitch. Trailblazers will be the foundation from which confidence can grow.
I want them to be resilient in defeat and have the creativity to bounce back.
To approach every situation with a strong mindset: “I’ve got this”.
Confident. Empowered. Creative. Determined. Resilient.
Strong – and in a position to inspire the next generation = Trailblazers!
Please note:
We are also disrupting the giving culture:
The women who volunteer their time to inspire the girls will be compensated for their time and travel where possible. Self-employed women are giving of nature and with community first and foremost on their mind we feel this sends a strong signal.
