Hello!
I am a proffessional makeup artist from Charleston SC, currently living in New York! Yeah, I know, BIG difference. This place has really helped me, scorned me, tossed me around and eventually rebirthed me.
It’s safe to say that in the past few years I have been through quite a few changes. Jobs, location and most recently gender. In March of 2015, I decide that I would live my life the best I knew how; as my true self, Demi Vee Washington.
Recently, I was denied coverage by my medical insurance provider (Aetna) for gender confirmation surgery. I will apply again in the spring.
This is not a life or death surgery, but how awesome would it be if we could all live our lives as who we want to be! We all have one shot at life, help me live it the best I can.
So here I am, asking all of my family and friends to help me achieve this goal. It is my mission to save / raise $10,000 (originally $6500) so that I can have this procedure done and afford after care. $1, $5, $20, $100 and beyond, I am forever grateful.
