Tony's Emergency Vet Fund

On Saturday, July 27, 2024, while at the cottage in North Bay visiting with friends, Tony suffered a severe spinal injury as a result of previously undiagnosed intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). He lost total function in both back legs overnight. The onset of symptoms was sudden and unexpected.

Tony was rushed to the emergency vet in Barrie, then on to Toronto where he underwent emergency spinal surgery to remove the herniated lesion on his spine. The surgery went well and all signs indicate it was successful. Tony was discharged from the hospital on July 30 and is recovering at home.

With time and rest, Tony will hopefully regain the ability to walk and live a long happy life.

Tony’s vet bills are in excess of $11,000, not including any rehabilitation or physiotherapy that he might need down the road. We greatly appreciate any amount you are able to contribute to financially assist with Tony’s surgery and recovery.
