Memorial Tree for Tom

Tom Brown was an avid outdoorsman and passionate conservationist who was intrigued by any and all natural resources. Aside from his many adventurous interests, Tom was also a proud graduate of the Fish and Wildlife Technologist program at Sir Sandford Fleming College. During his time at Fleming, he inspired others through his charismatic love for field of work, endearing readiness to volunteer, and strong leadership during extracurricular activities. Fleming also connected Tom with friends who later became his family.

Canada was a second home to Tom, whether that was during his time in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba or Alberta. Tom made a home and friends everywhere he went. To plant Tom’s roots in Canada, a memorial tree will be planted at Fleming College, the place that strengthened Tom's love for the outdoors and the environment; the place that connected him with the friends he cherished. Tom’s legacy will live on at Fleming, and his tree will serve as an inspiration for future generations of conservationists and to all of those who have had the honor to call Tom a friend and family. 

The cost of the tree is $750, which includes a plaque as well as the maintenance and care of the tree.

The funds raised through this page will be used to cover the cost of Tom's tree and plaque. Once the goal of $750 is met, Layken will withdraw the funds to submit with the application for the tree and plaque. If you would like to donate additional funds, the surplus of this account will be donated in Tom's name to an organization that he was passionate about.
