Our small Kaua’i community lost a kind, genuine soul and is deeply grieving his absence. Heifara was intertwined into so many people’s lives much like the beautiful jewelry he made of coconut husk. This loss is felt by many. If you’ve ever been to Heiva i Kaua’i then you’ve seen him selling his jewelry with his sweet girlfriend, Lori. Or maybe you visited Lū’au Kalamaku and you had the pleasure of listening to him drum. If you were ever blessed to have a conversation with him, then you were blessed with his warm smile.
