To help defray expenses

UPDATE: Hi everyone.. Thank you all so much for your prayers and for checking on mom. I apologize if we haven't responded to calls or texts and have been vague with updates. A lot has been going on and it's hard to keep up with. So I just wanted to let everyone know what happened, and what her current status is at this point.

She went to the Port Lavaca ER at about 2am Friday night because she thought she was having a heart attack. She had chest pains and shortness of breath. She walked in fine and shortly later her heart stopped and they had to do compressions to get pulse back. Her carbon dioxide levels in her blood were extremely high. They transferred her to the ICU at Detar in Victoria and put her on a ventilator to help get her blood gas levels back to normal and to give her lungs a rest. At that time prognosis was pneumonia, and her heart enzyme was elevated a bit which indicated heart attack.

On Monday they were able to get her off ventilator and she was breathing ok. They began additional testing on her heart and found 70% blockage in a main artery so the put in a stent. She remained in ICU while they continued to monitor her.

Wednesday she was moved to a regular room and was doing very good. She was moving around and talking and felt much better. She was scheduled to be released
the following day. At 4am I received a call from the charge nurse at Detar ICU that moms heart had stopped and they had to do compressions for a minute and a half and use the charge paddles before they got a pulse back. They immediately intubated her and brought her back down to ICU. They have her in a medically induced coma now and after speaking with multiple doctors and specialists there isn't a whole lot left to do. Her heart took a lot of damage. I ask that you please please continue to pray and send her lots of love. We are all here by her side loving on her as much as we can.

In the next 24 hours she will be taken off life support. We are asking for donations to help defray expenses.
