Cancer Drive

Hi, my name is Mike Curtis. My wife has cancer. We found this out 3 weeks ago that she was diagnosed with Uterine cancer and that a total Hysterectomy was the best option for treatment. On 10/23 she had that surgery and unfortunately during the surgery they discovered an aggressive cancer in her pelvis, diaphragm area, She is at stage 3 or 4 at this time and we are about to begin chemo within the next week or so. She has a rare cancer called Carcinosarcoma. My wife is in otherwise great health at 67. She is a fighter and totally believes that God is in control. Our spirits are as good as expected at this time but certainly as most trials in life timing is terrible.
 
My wife has been retired for 2 years but because  of my work situation she had gone back to work a couple months ago. I'm a salesperson in the promotional item and marketing industry. Our industry across the country is down as companies have kept employees at home and most have cut the promotional budgets drastically back. I'm also a Pastor, and we had opened a new church on Father's Day. My company has been fantastic, but due to the struggles the salespeople have been put on a much reduced pay plan. My pay for 2020 has averaged half of what I made in 2019 from 5k per month to 2500.00. My wife and I have a simple life with  monthly bills at approximately 3900.00 per month. During the next 4 to 5 months we will also have an additional expense for propane in which we will use 2700 to 3000 gallons at 2,47 per gallon for an approximate total of $6660.00 at the low end. 

As you can see we have a difficult next few months ahead of us. We know that God will he us through and we have been so Blessed to this point with an overwhelming amount f prayer and love. We are constantly praying that we can continue to stay in our home, take care of our critters and make sure that the next few months can remain as less stressful as possible. 

My wife and our lives came together just over six years ago. She had lost a husband of over 38 years and I was ending my almost 30 year battle with alcoholism. On November 11th I will celebrate 6 years of sobriety and we will celebrate 6 years of marriage in May of 2021. We can desperately use some help right now. With God's Grace and some help from some gracious people we will defeat this cancer and live on to serve others as we have dedicated our lives to do.
