Maria Fernanda is 25 years old, with so much determination and effort she recently graduated from college and moved to Austin, Texas. She has always been known for her strong spirit, her resilience, faith, and the way she brings light and positivity to the people around her.

Since January, 2026, MariaFe has been hospitalized after suffering devastating medical complications caused by lupus, an autoimmune disease that began attacking her own body.

Her condition become critical after she suffered a stroke and required emergency brain surgery, including the removal of part of her skull to relieve life-threatening swelling to save her life.

Since then, her health has continued to decline rapidly. She has endured kidney failure, heart failure, paralysis, and is unable to breathe or eat on her own. She is currently fighting a brain infection and multiple life-threatening complications.

Although MariaFe is unable to move her body, she remains aware of what is happening around her.

During one of her most fragile moments, someone asked her: "Do you want to keep fighting?" She was asked to give a sign.

MariaFe lifted one finger. That was her answer. Yes. She wants to live.

Before she lost her ability to speak, with tear in her eyes, she has been asking for her parents, who remain in Peru and are desperately trying to be reunited with her daughter.

After enduring multiple visa denials, they are now pursuing humanitarian paroles as their last remaining hope t be by her side.

This process requires immediate legal representation, expensive immigration attorney fees, emergency travel from Peru in addition to the ongoing medical expenses.

The financial burden has been overwhelming, and time is incredibly critical. Her parents need to be here as soon as possible to advocate for her medical care, help make urgent decisions and most importantly, hold their daughter and surround her with love during the fight of her life. No parent should be separated from their child during a moment like this.

Desde enero de 2026, MariaFe ha estado hospitalizada después de sufrir devastadoras complicaciones médicas causadas por el lupus, una enfermedad autoimmune que comenzó a atacar su propio cuerpo.

Su condición se volvió crítica después de sufrir un derrame cerebral y necesitar una cirugía cerebral de emergencia, incluyendo la remoción de parte de su cráneo para aliviar una inflamación que ponía en riesgo su vida y poder salvarla.

Desde entonces, su salud ha continuado deteriorándose rápidamente. Ha enfrentado insuficiencia renal, insuficiencia cardíaca, parálisis, y actualmente no puede respirar ni alimentarse por sí sola. También está luchando contra una infección cerebral y múltiples complicaciones que amenazan su vida.

Aunque MariaFe no puede mover su cuerpo, permanece consciente de lo que está sucediendo a su alrededor.

En uno de sus momentos más frágiles, alguien le preguntó:

“¿Quieres seguir luchando?”

Le pidieron que diera una señal.

MariaFe levantó un dedo.

Esa fue su respuesta.

Sí.

Ella quiere vivir.

Antes de perder la capacidad de hablar, entre lágrimas expresó cuánto deseaba tener a su mamá y a su papá a su lado. Ella pidió por sus padres.

Sus padres están en Perú y están desesperadamente tratando de llegar para estar con su hija, pero después de haber sido rechazados múltiples veces para obtener una visa, ahora están buscando un permiso humanitario urgente, que es su única opción para poder reunirse con ella.

Este proceso requiere representación legal inmediata, altos costos de abogados, viajes de emergencia desde Perú y también cubrir los gastos médicos continuos.

La carga financiera ha sido abrumadora y el tiempo es extremadamente crítico.

Sus padres necesitan estar aquí lo antes posible para poder abogar por su atención médica, ayudar a tomar decisiones urgentes y, lo más importante, abrazar a su hija y rodearla de amor durante la batalla más difícil de su vida.
